Frequently Asked Questions

Grill Sizing
What size grill do I need?

We offer grills in 24", 30", and 36" cooking widths. Here's a quick guide:

  • 24" – Ideal for smaller patios or couples. Great for everyday grilling.
  • 30" – Our most popular size. Perfect for families and regular entertaining.
  • 36" – Best for large gatherings and serious outdoor chefs who want maximum cooking space.
What's the difference between the T Series and L Series grills?

The T-Series grills feature a Flame Thrower piezo ignition system that eliminates the need for electricity or batteries. Self-sufficient by design, they deliver dependable performance in any setting. Designed to elevate the variability of grilling options for every cook.

The L-Series grills make a bold statement with an external, multi-color LED light bar, interior halogen lights and striking Gun Metal finish throughout. The Flame Thrower ignition system provides easy and consistent lighting. Designed to stand out after sunset, the L-Series brings elevated control and a variety of cooking options to every cook.

Grill Configuration

Built-in vs. Portable vs. Post vs. In-Ground — which is right for me?
  • Built-in – Designed to be permanently installed into an outdoor kitchen island or counter. Most popular for custom outdoor kitchens.
  • Portable – Freestanding on a cart, easy to move. Great if you don't have a fixed outdoor kitchen.
  • Patio Post Mount – Patio base mounts to your deck or concrete slab with 4 bolts, ideal for smaller spaces or decks.
  • In-Ground Post – Installed flush into a ground-level surface for a seamless, low-profile look. Set in concrete for a secure grilling set up.

Fuel Types

What fuel type should I choose — Natural Gas or Liquid Propane?
  • Natural Gas (NG) – Connects directly to your home's gas line. No tanks to refill, unlimited fuel supply. Requires a gas line at your grill location.
  • Liquid Propane (LP) – Uses a standard propane tank. More flexible placement since no gas line is needed.
Do I need a conversion kit to switch between Natural Gas and Liquid Propane?

Yes. Our grills are configured at the factory for either NG or LP. If you need to switch fuel types, a conversion kit is required. Please contact us before purchasing to ensure you order the correct configuration.

Warranty

What is the warranty on American Outdoor Grills?

American Outdoor Grills are backed by a comprehensive warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty details vary by component (burners, grates, housing, etc.). Please refer to the warranty information included with your product or contact us for full warranty terms.

Shipping

How does shipping work?

Due to their size and weight, all grills ship via LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight. Here's what to expect:

  • You will be contacted by the freight carrier to schedule a delivery appointment.
  • Signature is required at the time of delivery.
  • Before signing, carefully inspect the packaging for any damage. If damage is found,  you can refuse the shipment. If you think only small component is damage and refusal is not warranted  write "Noted Damage To" listing the impacted area on the delivery receipt before signing.
  • Shipping times vary by location. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Smaller orders may ship Fedex UPS or USPS ground with no signature required.

Maintenance

How do I maintain my grill?
  • After each use, preheat the grill on high for 10–15 minutes to burn off residue, then brush the grates clean.
  • Periodically clean the burners and heat plates to prevent grease buildup.
  • Cover your grill when not in use to protect it from the elements.
  • Refer to your owner's manual for model-specific maintenance schedules.
